Overview

The French girl aesthetic will simply never go out of style, from pairing a bold red lip with classic Chanel ballet flats to perching at a café while sipping Maison Perrier sparkling water. And though Paige DeSorbo isn’t Parisian, she says: “I feel French,” listing her love for capris, croissants, and French kisses. The French kiss in question, though, is with Maison Perrier’s new line of sweetened sparkling waters.

The reality TV star, podcaster, and fashion designer (thanks to her French-coded brand Daphne) has teamed up with Amazon and Maison Perrier to promote its new French Kiss drinks, which combine fruit flavors with prebiotic fiber and less than one gram of sugar for a sweet treat that won’t mess up your kissing game with stained teeth or bad breath that is often the end results of a glass of wine or soda.

Today, DeSorbo is taking over Amazon Live with her unfiltered advice on modern romance with a French attitude, of course. Ahead, she also speaks to Refinery29 to share her favorite French Kiss flavor combo, French-inspired fall outfit picks, and top Amazon finds that upgrade her wardrobe and home. Read the full interview and shop DeSorbo’s Amazon picks below.

Refinery29: Can you tell me first, how did this partnership come about and why do you love the product?

Paige DeSorbo: Well, I was so happy when Maison Perrier reached out because even though I’m not French inherently, I feel French and I gravitate toward French things like crème brûlée and croissants! So, I was extremely excited when they wanted to partner with me. And I love sparkling water because… I’m alive. And the fact that they came out with sweetened flavors… they’re truly so good. They’re flavors that you wouldn’t think to put together. I’m not a coconut girl, but when I say their mango and coconut is so good, you know it’s good.

R29: Would you say that’s your favorite flavor?

PD: No, actually my favorite flavor is this raspberry and lime. I’m just drinking it right out of the can. Whenever I’m craving a soda, I think… better not. And so I have to have a sparkling water. I grab these because it fulfills that feeling where it’s flavored. Also, I like that burn it does when it goes down.

And there’s certain things you eat where you have to have carbonation, like a turkey sandwich. Can’t have a flat water with a turkey sandwich!

R29: Amazon is a one-stop shop. Are there any Amazon favorites in your home or closet that you like to get dressed in or entertain with?

PD: I’m a big organizational person. I feel like it truly calms me down. Everything in my house has a home and it needs to live in its home. So all my organizational stuff I get from Amazon. One of my favorite things ever is my label maker from Amazon. It is just the best thing ever. Do yourself a favor and get a label maker because once you start labeling… I literally almost labeled the cat! It is so addicting.

And then for summer, I feel like Amazon just always has great sandals. I have black thong heel sandals that are really in right now, and my Amazon ones are by far the most comfortable ones that I own.

R29: Do you feel like you incorporate the French girl aesthetic into your outfits? And if so, what are your favorite pieces that you incorporate?

Details

PD: Well, usually I have bangs, so I feel like, yeah, I’m French. Only French girls can do bangs. You have bangs right now, you’re French. And I love capris, and I feel like the French invented capris and ballet flats. So I feel very in line with their style.

R29: Going into September, what are your transitional weather clothing picks? And are there any pieces from Amazon that you think shoppers should pick up for the changing weather?

PD: Trench coats are always in. I feel like Amazon has really good trench coats and windbreakers right now. Also, I just bought a pair of ballet flats with a little block heel because I saw one Instagram post that said girls in France were wearing these. And I said: ‘Yeah, I have to buy them.’

R29: What is your go-to fall outfit formula?

PD: Okay. I feel like a cool pair of pants, like a cargo pant or some oversized low-waist pant, ballet flats, and then honestly just a good white T-shirt or a button-up I think is my go-to fall outfit. I love a T-shirt with just a sweater around your shoulders. I feel like that’s so effortless and fall-ish.

R29: Like Maison Perrier, your brand Daphne has a French feel to it. What’s next for the brand and what can your fans expect?

PD: There’s so many things we want to do with Daphne. If I could make new products every single day, I would, but we’d literally go out of business. But I have just so many ideas. And I think for the fall, we’re really leaning into travel and lounge, which I’m very excited about. Each season is so different and so fun, so I’m excited for the fall.

R29: If you had a box of Masion Perrier delivered from Amazon to your door, which Daphne pieces do you think you’d be wearing to pick it up?

PD: Well, I’d have to obviously match whatever flavor they sent. So, we have a lot of light blue and Maison Perrier incorporates a lot of light blue in their cans. So I would probably wear our striped cloud button up and a matching little brief or bloomer. I feel like those little micro shorts are French.
